Arthritis Gloves

Cold days bring the need for gloves, but for some people, special ones are needed:

These arthritis gloves are designed to be worn indoors and while working and doing daily chores. They hug your hands, lightly compressing them, as well as providing warmth. The soft cotton lycra means these gloves “breathe” allowing you to wear them for long hours, day or night.

The tightness helps control any swelling too, and many arthritis patients benefit from these wonder gloves, enough to want to keep them on during cold winter months and through out the year as well.

Natural Anti-inflammatory Foods and Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS

The causes of irritable bowel syndrome are unclear. However, the Western diet full of refined and chemical foods, is implicated. Emotional and stress related factors are also as issue. If you suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome some of the following information may help you improve your situation.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS, is more widespread than we might suppose. The main symptom of IBS is abdominal pain and cramps after eating. A sufferer may also experience diarrhea, constipation, gas or bloating. Sometimes mucous may be seen in the feces. These symptoms usually are ongoing for at least 90 days before an IBS diagnosis is considered by a medical doctor. For this diagnosis, the symptoms are present in spite of the absence of true structural damage to the intestines.

Most people have symptoms in the milder range, and fortunately, an improved diet can usually relieve the suffering considerably.

Contributing factors to an irritable bowel may be food allergies, altered bowel microflora (of the acidophilus type), intestinal parasites, lack of dietary fiber, and lack of digestive enzymes. Eating sugar, refined carbohydrates, and chemical non-foods (colorings and other additives, and foods made from petroleum products) is probably not going to improve the situation.

This syndrome is associated with emotional stresses like depression, hysteria, obsessive-compulsive traits, anxiety, resentment, marital conflicts, death of a loved one, or prolonged excessive anxiety over everyday matters. IBS occurs predominantly in women, at a ratio of 3:1 to men, and the average age of onset is 20-40.

Omega-3’s are a type of essential fatty acids that the body cannot produce from what you eat. Therefore, you must get them in your daily diet in order to supply the many body functions that need them.

Wild caught cold water fish are an excellent source of omega 3 oils, but now that our industrialized world has contaminated ocean water, and consequently the fish and mammals that live in the oceans, it is recommended generally not to eat these fish more than 3-4 times a week. These recommendations can vary if you are pregnant, so check with your doctor.

Omega 3 oils are the components of eicosanoids, hormone-like compounds that regulate blood pressure, clotting, and many other biochemical functions.

Excellent vegetarian sources of omega 3 oils are flax seed oil and walnuts. Black currant seed oil, and evening primrose oil are also very good.

Currently, the best source of omega 3 fats from fish, is a purified fish oil in a nutritional supplement form. With the contaminants removed (mercury and others), you can have a daily dose and let omega-3’s do what they have been reported to do well - balancing the immune system, decreasing inflammation, diminishing depression and anxiety and lowering some of the risk factors for heart disease.

This precious food is also healthy for normal skin, joints, and soft tissues. Omega 3 oils are anti-aging and anti-inflammatory. However, if you do suffer from IBS, you may experience some relief by including more omega 3’s in your daily diet.

I hope this information stimulates your curiosity for more anti-aging education. If you have any health concerns, be sure to ask your health practitioner.

Warts: Symptoms, Treatment and Cause

Warts are embarrassing and cause itching, pain and embarrassment. For those seeking relief from warts this article aims to educate you on what causes warts, what warts look like and what your options are for treatment.

Warts are growths on the skin caused when cells in the outer layer of skin are infected by the human papillomavirus (HPV). The virus replicates within the cells causing the cells to grow rapidly. Enclosed in a protein envelope, viruses contain a basic string of DNA. When infected by a virus, a cell in your body creates virus cells instead of making the things the cell needs to survive. The virus replicates inside the host cell until the host cell ruptures and releases the new virus cells. Warts are spread through touch for this reason.

Descriptions of some common wart types:

o A raised lump having a rough surface and resembling cauliflower, the common wart is most often found on the knees and hands.

o Common on the face, near eyelids and the lips, filiform warts look fingers or threads as they are long and thin.

o Common on the face, neck and hands, flat warts appear as flat smooth bumps which are flesh colored.

o A plantar wart is a hard, dark, and usually painful lump most commonly found on the soles of the feet.

o A genital wart is a wart occurring on the genitals.

Warts are treated generally the same regardless of the type. Treatment options include removal of the wart tissue with acids, killing the cells of the wart by freezing them, burning the wart with a laser, administering a topical medication to stimulate the bodies immune response, surgical removal of the wart and various other alternative treatments. The above treatment options all have different success rates and researches are learning more about the various alternative treatments and some show a lot of promise.

If you have a wart that has not responded to treatment, or comes back shortly after treatment, you are encouraged to look into other treatment options as everyone reacts differently to a given treatment. The key to riding yourself of the pain, irritation or embarrassment of warts is to be persistent. You can be wart free so don’t give up!

Toxic Chemicals Contribute to Catching Colds and Flu

You probably are aware that giving your immune system a helping hand can ward off colds and the flu. But did you know that common exposures to toxic chemicals in your everyday life can actually increase your chances of becoming sick?
flu and cold used tissuesCatching a cold or flu requires exposure to bacteria and viruses and a body with a weak immune system. When bacteria and viruses encounter a strong immune system, the immune system recognizes the bacteria or virus as a foreign invader and fights them off. But when the body’s immune system is compromised, it can’t do its job of protecting us against the bacteria and viruses that can make us sick.

Unfortunately, today, our immune systems are exposed to a torrent of toxic chemicals that can weaken its ability to defend the health of our bodies. Plastics, pesticides, and pollutants of all kinds are in most consumer products. And virtually all of these chemicals can damage the immune system, leaving your body vulnerable to attack.

On the other hand, sometimes what may seem like a cold or flu may not be a cold or flu at all, but is actually a poisoning. In the wintertime, for example, during the “flu season,” many families turn on their gas heat. Exposure to combustion by-products from burning gas can result in flu symptoms. Taking a cold or flu remedy won’t help relieve those symptoms of toxic exposure.

Cold and flu symptoms can also be a sign that your body is at work to eliminate toxic chemicals it has been exposed to. A runny nose or sneezing might be a cold, or it might be the body trying to clear out nasal passages that have been inhaling toxic chemicals. There are many toxic exposures in the average American home. So many, in fact, that there is a whole class of chemicals called “immunotoxicants,” which, by definition, cause “increased incidence or severity of infectious diseases.”

Removing immunotoxicants from your home will do even more than stop colds and flus–it will protect you and your family from all contagious diseases, including bronchitis and pneumonia, diarrhea, measles, mumps, whopping cough, and others. Flu shots and vacinnations? Removing immuntoxics from your home allows your immune system to regenerate naturally, and fight off all infectious diseases.

Here are five simple things you can to start eliminating immunotoxicants from your home and strengthen your immune system.

1. Open the window. During the winter, we keep windows closed to keep warm and save energy, but this also keeps toxic chemicals inside the home. Open a window occasionally to let the toxic fumes out and bring fresh air in.

2. Don’t spray disinfectants. It’s second nature to reach for a disinfectant to kill cold germs and flu viruses, but disinfectants only make things worse. Disinfectants contain the immunotoxicants cresol, phenol, ethanol, and formaldehyde, which reduce the ability of the immune system to fight the germs they are killing. Better to strengthen the immune system to protect the body from germs as it should. If you need to kill germs, use hot water or tea tree oil.

3. Don’t use “permanent” markers. These contain the solvents cresol, toluene and xylene, all powerful immunotoxicants. Choose waterbased markers instead.

4. Don’t use nonstick cookware. A 2008 study by the Environmental Working Group through West Virginia University found higher levels of a chemical in Teflon found in the blood of test subjects correlated with lower levels of a protein that helps the body fight bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. Instead use cast iron, porcelain enamel, glass, clay, or one of the new PFOA-free “green pans.”

5. Sleep on untreated cotton or linen sheets. All polyester/cotton and permanent-press cotton sheets are treated with a formaldehyde finish that cannot be removed and continues to emit formaldehyde for the life of the sheet. Common symptoms from this immunotoxicant include runny nose, itchy eyes, and other cold and flu symptoms.

If you have children in your home, it’s even more important to reduce their exposure to toxic chemicals because a child’s immune system isn’t fully developed until age seven or eight.

Every step you can take toward removing toxic chemicals in your home will greatly improve your health. Begin today.

Exercise a Great Remedy for Loud and Obnoxious Snoring

Stop snoring and start sleeping like a baby! In less than 7 days, without annoying throat wraps, nose clips or any other cockamamie devices, you and your loved ones can get a good night sleep.Snoring is annoying and can drive you nuts! if you sleep by yourself; and find yourself tired and frustrated; or the loud and obnoxious snoring of your husband or wife has gotten old; then you’re reading the right article at the right time.

Besides causing you to be sleepy and more prone to accidents, there is vital proof that snoring affects our health. In fact, Hungarian researchers have suggested that heavy snorers are at a significantly higher risk of developing acute cardiovascular problems.

According to press TV, The Journal Press reported that loud snorers are 34% more prone to developing a heart attack, and 67% more prone to stroke.

Furthermore, a report from the university of California School of Dentistry found that 21% of men who snore had hardened blockages in their carotid arteries. (Carotid arteries carry oxygen to the brain)

We know that snoring can cause relationship and social embarrassment, more importantly snoring can also be a health risk. Therefore you need a solution that’s quick and easy.

As we get older, throat muscles relax (like our other body parts) this increases snoring. and, when people gain weight. fatty deposits can narrow their throat, which makes it harder to breathe and people snore more.

Snoring starts more so at mid-life than in our younger years, and gradually gets worse as we get older because the more relaxed the muscles are, the more they vibrate. And, it’s that vibration which is loud and disturbing. That vibration comes from the soft palate in the back of your mouth.

There is a solution to your problem that’s 100% natural, strengthens you physically, relaxes and relieves stress, and shows quick results.

It’s a very simple method of exercises that can be done any time of the day in as little as 3 minutes. The best way to see how simple these exercises are, is to try one out.

So here’s an exercise that helps to loosen your jaw-because tight or clenched jaws are considered one of the causes of snoring. this exercise takes only a minute, but before you’re done, you should feel your jaw muscles strengthen and the back of your mouth opening up.

1. Start by lining up your upper and lower molars(teeth) and put them together, very lightly. 2. Now imagine your molars(teeth)are like a hinge(similar to your door). Lower your jaw while keeping your molars(teeth)together and your lips closed. open and close your lower jaw about 20 times.

There is a total of 24 exercises that can help you with snoring. I’ve only given you one of the in this article.

In summary you can stop snoring by doing several simple exercises in little as 3 minutes a day.
